Dorothea has been a long-time member of the CMA group. She is a graduate of Swarthmore College with a BA in music and has earned an MM from Temple University’s Boyer College of Music. Her background includes the study of violin, viola, organ, guitar and voice. She attended the Mannes College of Music in NYC and Mlle. Nadia Boulanger’s School for Americans in Fontainebleau, France.

She teaches piano to adults and children. Her approach includes essential aspects of piano technique plus basic concepts of the theory and construction of music. Her goal is to provide a solid foundation that allows the students to move into any area of their choice: classical, jazz, show tunes, popular tunes, etc., and, pursue the exploration and enjoyment of music throughout their lives.
